Job Summary

The Sr. Manager of QA Technical Services will have people management responsibilities in addition to specific product categories to ensure compliance to food specification, safety, and manufacturing. They will be expected to work and collaborate cross-functionally with multiple departments within a corporate setting. Additionally, they will also work closely with vendors to develop and approve processes to ensure world class food standards are being held. Finally, they will also utilize their previous knowledge and experiences within the industry to creatively problem solve in areas including but not limited to, product testing programs, revising existing products, or refining product specifications.

Your Key Job Functions

  • Deliver end-to-end supplier vetting and approval, product commercialization, specification development, and internal product audits.
  • Develop meaningful relationships with vendors focusing on continuous improvement by influencing through good communication and documenting end-result as required.
  • Collaborate with cross functional departments within a multi-tiered corporate environment to provide timely specification and formulation information related to assigned category
  • Championing a culture of Food Safety by modeling world class food safe practices
  • Lead multiple projects in a timely manner, be able to delegate tasks to team members, assess and flex projects based on criticality levels.
  • Be the subject matter expert for the physical and chemical nature on all new or revised products/procedures, i.e., ingredients, processes and performance.
  • Maintain expertise in HACCP, Food Safety, product withdrawals/recalls, current food/dining trends, nutritional standards and food service manufacturing/technology.
  • Effectively be able to manage a team through motivating and accountability as a people manager
  • Respond and resolve product issues at the supplier, distributor and/or restaurant level.
  • Maintain professional certification and continuously build upon industry knowledge
  • Travel required based on needs of business, typically less than 50%

What You Bring to the Team

  • Required bachelor's degree and/or graduate degree in Food Science or related field.
  • Minimum of 6+ years in a Supplier Quality/Food Safety corporate role within the restaurant and/or fast-food industry
  • Proven experience to lead team members as a people manager
  • Expertise in sourcing and qualifying suppliers from a food safety/quality assurance lens
  • Familiarity with the end-to-end process of supply chain management
  • Proven experience to directly lead team members as a people manager
  • Strong communication style both verbal and written with experience presenting to groups
  • Proven ability to influence and build productive and cooperative relationships with team members, suppliers, vendors, clients
